13 Reasons Why I Can Love Myself is a Youth Empowerment Program facilitated by a CDLF therapist. The goal of this workshop series is to alleviate the devastating effects of sexual abuse and/or assault on the lives of Latino youth victims ages 12-18 and increase their access to existing services. You do not need to be a survivor of abuse or assault to participate.
Casa de la Familia provides individual counseling, family counseling, group counseling, support groups, advocacy, crisis intervention, and outreach in Orange County. Casa de la Familia specializes in the treatment of post-traumatic, anxiety, and depressive disorders through the provision of crisis intervention and long-term individual and family therapy. The primary focus for the services we provide is the underserved and underrepresented minority populations, taking care to provide culturally appropriate and relevant services.
The goal of this project was to outreach, educate, and increase knowledge pertaining to mental health services within the Latino community. By utilizing a non-stigmatizing method such as a theatrical play, Latino community members learned about the signs and symptoms associated with mental health and became familiar with the services that are available through LACDMH.
